Ocean City High School’s finest men danced, shook their booty, dressed in drag and generally carried on Thursday in the Mr. OCHS Pageant.
“And I know moms and dads are so proud,” emcee John Bruno quipped.
At the end of the night, Paul Stanton was crowned Mr. OCHS 2014 after an competition that included formal wear, personality interview, fitness competition, free expression/talent and casual wear. Stanton performed a bro routine that included a “weights before dates” calendar slide show.
Ocean City High School’s twisted beauty pageant is an annual event and this year included 14 seniors. The Bill and Nancy Hughes Performing Arts Center at the high school was filled to capacity with students, parents and other members of the public eager to watch the contestants poke good-natured fun at pageantry, themselves, the school community and anything else that might draw a laugh.

The show included choreographed dances in addition to the competition categories..
The Ocean City cheerleading squad and coaches Kathy Sykes and Brenda Colon-Smith were responsible for putting the show together and helping the pageant contestants rehearse.
A generous array of cash and merchandise prizes came from At Your Service Formalwear, Class of 2013, Custard Hut, Express Pizza, Family and Consumer Sciences, Heritage Links Golf, John’s Barber Shop, Johnson’s Popcorn, Linwood Dental, Local Gym & Fitness, Manco & Manco, Nonna’s, O.C. Surf Cafe, Ocean City Aquatics and Fitness Center, Philly Pretzel Factory, Pizza Station, Primo’s Hoagies, Sack O’ Subs, Salon del Mare, Shore Clean Car Wash, Spinning Wheel Florist, Splash Zone, Starbucks Coffee, Varsity Inn, Village Card & Gift, Yesterday’s and Yoasis Frozen Yogurt.
