The After Prom Committee at Ocean City High School celebrated its 25th anniversary this year.
That’s 25 years of providing a safe, fun environment for students following the prom at the Flanders Hotel.
A quarter century of dedicated service, working with local businesses and community leaders to secure donations, coordinate volunteers, decorate the hallways, gym, and other spaces used in the event at the high school.
Members of the After Prom Committee shared a special moment before the event Saturday night as they hosted and recognized members of the original committee from 25 years ago.
There was, however, a somber aspect, as the group congregated for the first After Prom since the death of original committee member Ginger Foglio.
Foglio, a very active and dedicated member of the original committee, passed away in November.
When the original members posed for a group picture with the current committee, the originals were seated in the front row.
One seat was conspicuously left empty to symbolize and to pay tribute to Ginger Foglio.
