Due to social gathering restrictions during the coronavirus pandemic, Ocean City did not hold a live Memorial Day ceremony this year.

However, a pre-recorded video of the ceremony has been posted to the “Ocean City NJ” Facebook page and to www.ocnj.us.

The event also can be viewed on OCTV (Comcast Channel 97 in Ocean City) at 6 p.m. on Monday.

The ceremony features remarks from Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6650 Commander Mike Morrissey, American Legion Post 524 Commander Bob Marzulli and Mayor Jay Gillian.

Ocean City High School student Julia Wilson sings the National Anthem and “God Bless America,” bugler Greg Murphy plays “Taps,” and the Rev. John Jamieson leads a prayer.

The ceremony includes the traditional elements, including the Armed Forces Medley, presentation of the wreath, the POW/MIA table, and the reading of the honor roll.
