Dylan Dwyer has been playing lacrosse since he was in fifth grade and has been dedicated to working on his improvement at the sport he loves.

All that hard work looks like it is paying off.

Dylan, a faceoff midfielder, is in the Final 4 of the U.S. Club Lacrosse organization’s People’s Champion Awards for his age group.

In the contest, determined by Internet votes, Dylan has advanced from the “Sweet 16” round to the “Elite 8” and now the Final 4.

But to win the ultimate title, Dwyer needs your help. Those wishing to help should visit U.S. Club Lacrosse’s website and click on the People’s Champion awards banner on the front page. The website can be found here: www.usclublax.com.

Regardless of how the local lacrosse prodigy fares in the final tally, it’s been a great year of training and playing.

He made the Ocean City varsity as a freshman, but schools were ordered closed for the rest of the academic year prior to any games being played.

However, at the club level, his bio lists his stats for the year at 33 points with eight goals and 25 assists.

He’s also an honor student carrying a 3.8 grade point average.

“It’s nice to be noticed by U.S. Club Lacrosse and it’s nice to be rewarded for hard work,” Dylan said of the honor.

His dad Todd Dwyer said he was exceedingly proud of his son and heaped all the credit Dylan’s way.

“He is the one setting the alarm clock and getting up every morning to work out and to practice,” Todd Dwyer said of Dylan.
