Ocean City AARP Chapter 1062 is sponsoring an event for the Cape May County Senior Corps/Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) that will be held on Friday, May 17.
The program starts at 12:30 p.m. in Room 111 at the Ocean City Free Public Library, located at 1735 Simpson Ave.
The speaker, Rachel C. Sanfo, RSVP program director, will discuss volunteer roles for people 55 and over to showcase their skills learned throughout their lifetimes and to make a positive change in the lives of others, according to an AARP press release.
Volunteer roles include greeters, interpreters, IT specialists and tutors to assist at volunteer stations throughout the county.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) offers free tax help to people with low-to-moderate income. Volunteer tax preparers as well as other positions are needed.
Members of the public are urged to come out and learn about volunteering at the AARP/RSVP event.
All are welcome. Refreshments will be available.
