The Ocean City Regional Chamber of Commerce is honored to announce the recipient of the Chamber’s 2015 Citizen of the Year Award.
The award will be presented at the Chamber’s dinner Monday, Nov. 16, at the Ocean City Yacht Club.
The Citizen of the Year Award will be presented this year to Ocean City resident Michael Dattilo.
Dattilo has worked for the City of Ocean City in numerous capacities for more than three decades. He is the former business administrator for the City of Ocean City. As the business administrator, he was the chief operating officer, overseeing the following departments: Law, Community Services, Public Works, Financial Management, Police Services and Fire and Rescue Services. Additionally, Dattilo served as the department head for the following divisions: Emergency Management, Engineering/Project Management, Human Resources, Information Technology and Purchasing.
Dattilo’s deep-rooted sense of community has led him to serve as a Little League coach, a mentor at Ocean City Primary School and as a basketball coach. He is very active with the Ocean City Youth Athletic Association and currently serves on the board of directors for First Night and Greater Ocean City Theatre Company. Mr. Dattilo resides in Ocean City with his wife and two daughters.
