The following is Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian’s weekly update to citizens posted on Friday, Dec. 5.
December 5, 2014
Dear Friends,
Yesterday I received an update from the project team on several ongoing projects.  I am happy to report that the boardwalk project is ahead of schedule, as pilings are being installed and decking plans are ready to begin. I was informed that the Bay Avenue project continues, with concrete work upcoming and a probable completion date of February 1, 2015, weather permitting.
Last night, City Council approved several important measures to keep our projects on schedule.  City Council approved an ordinance that will enable Atlantic City Electric to provide electrical service for the Merion Park road and drainage project.  Council also authorized the Administration to execute a shared services agreement with the City of Wildwood for the placement of dredge spoils from Site 83.  Also approved was the funding for a new skate park.  I am thankful the Council’s continued support of our capital projects and for working jointly with the administration to move these projects forward.
I hope everyone has a great weekend and I hope to see you at the Christmas Parade tonight.
Warm regards,
Jay A. Gillian
