The following is Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian’s weekly update to citizens posted on Friday, Dec. 26.

Dear Friends,

I hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and enjoyed Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with family and friends.

First Night admission buttons are on sale online.

I would like to remind you that First Night is just a few days away and if you have not purchased admission buttons for your family there is still time to do so. You can order your buttons online at www.FirstNightOCNJ.com or call (609) 399-1412.

Buttons can be purchased in person at the Roy Gillian Welcome Center on the Route 52 Causeway, downtown at Stainton’s Square and at the City Hall Information Center.  Buttons have sold out in recent years, so please do not wait.

We have a great night of entertainment planned for First Night with a variety of entertainment to satisfy every age group. Skate at the ice rink, enjoy pony rides, inflatables, magicians, a Cat in the Hat performance, jugglers, magicians and much more. Inclusive in the night’s entertainment are Broadway performances, comedians, a Mummers String Band, the Ocean City Pops, and the fabulous Grease Band.  I would like to thank the entire First Night committee and all of the sponsors who make this a great, safe night of family entertainment.

And as a reminder, City Council will hold their final meeting of 2014 on Monday, December 29 at 1:00 in the afternoon.  This meeting is the annual year end meeting, and will be held in Council Chambers in City Hall.

Best wishes to you and your family for a happy 2015.

Warm regards,

Jay A. Gillian
Mayor
