A coastal low moving past Ocean City on Sunday is expected to dump between one and two inches of rain on the island.

Tidal flooding is not expected, according to a National Weather Service briefing released Saturday.

With the highest tide of Sunday passing at 6:06 a.m. (at the Ninth Street Bridge) — about four hours before the rain is expected to start — the streets should drain early in the storm.

Poor drainage could be an issue on flood-prone streets with the 6:30 p.m. high tide on Sunday.

The high temperature on Sunday is expected to hit 46 degrees, so there’s no chance of snow or ice. South winds of 11 to 17 mph are expected Sunday.

The sun is expected to return Monday for Martin Luther King Day with a high temperature of 39 degrees and gusty west winds of 15 to 20 mph.

The low-pressure system could build surf through Sunday with the offshore winds on Monday providing the best conditions. The ocean water temperature is 37 degrees.
