Fire Badly Damages Ocean City Home

Firefighters battle a blaze Thursday afternoon that left a home extensively damaged.

Ocean City firefighters responded to a house fire at 121 North Street on Thursday afternoon.

At about 1:06 p.m. firefighters, under the direction of Deputy Chief Charlie Bowman of the C Platoon, arrived to discover fire and smoke billowing from the roof of a single family home.

All Ocean City fire units responded and assisted in an aggressive fire attack and search of the structure, according to a city press release.

Multiple firefighting units respond to the scene.

There were no occupants in the house at the time, and there were no reported injuries.

The home suffered extensive damage.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Fire companies from Marmora, Margate and Somers Point provided mutual assistance, along with the Upper Township Rescue Squad and AtlantiCare.

Firefighters secure the area.
