OCHS Drama Guild presents it’s Fall 2022 play, “ONCE IN A
LIFETIME”, a comedy by George S. Kaufman & Moss
Hart, in the Hughes Auditorium on Thursday
December 8 at 7 pm, Friday December 9 at 7 pm, and
Saturday December 10 at 2 pm and 7 pm.
It is late Fall of 1927 and the first talking movie, “The
Jazz Singer”, has just premiered in NYC. A trio of
vaudeville actors – George, May and Jerry – decide
to cash in their comedy act and head to Hollywood,
where they hope to make it big by pretending to be
voice coaches for the new talking movie industry.
They soon discover that the Hollywood bosses are
just making it all up as they go along too, but as long
as the publicity is good and you survive the latest
fads, you can be a star!
Fast-paced, funny, and packed with 62 characters
played by our 38 actors, “Once in a Lifetime”
skewers “experts” who are only in it for the glory and
the next rung up the ladder.

Robert LeMaire is the director, and Mrs.
Byrne the co-director.
The Drama Boosters will host concession
stands in the lobby, offering water,
snacks, candy-grams, flowers, and Drama
Guild merch. All concession proceeds go
to scholarships awarded to graduating
Drama Guild members.
