An 82-year-old Seaville woman struck while crossing the street in Ocean City’s downtown Wednesday morning has died, police said.
At 11:38 a.m., Elizabeth Goodwin, a pedestrian, was hit at the intersection of Eighth Street and Central Avenue.
Goodwin was transported to the trauma unit at Atlantic City Medical Center, City Campus, in Atlantic City for treatment. Police reported Wednesday night that she had died.
The driver, Michael Heston, 26, of Sweetwater, N.J., remained at the scene.
According to police, Heston was traveling on Central Avenue, turned on Eighth Street and struck Goodwin.
Heston has not been charged at this time.
The Ocean City Police Traffic Safety Unit and the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Accident Investigation Unit are investigating.
