Letter carriers in Ocean City, in partnership with the local branch of the U.S. Postal Service, will be collecting food for families in need on Saturday, Jan. 14.
Carriers ask that residents collect and bag nonperishable food items, then place them by their mailboxes for pickup on Jan. 14.
All food will be donated to the Ocean City Ecumenical Council’s Community Food Cupboard. Please do not include items that have expired or are in glass containers.
Some recommended items include:
- Canned vegetables
- Fruit cups
- Cans of soup
- Microwave macaroni-and-cheese
- Microwave Hormel meals
- Snack cups
- Paper products (such as tissues)
- Shampoo
- Toothpaste and toothbrushes
- Deodorant
