City Council will hold a public hearing Thursday and vote on a proposed $73.1 million budget that asks Ocean City taxpayers for 3.31 percent more than they paid last year.

The budget hearing will be part of the City Council meeting scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday (April 23) on the third floor of City Hall (Ninth Street and Asbury Avenue).

The net effect to taxpayers would be a 2.16 percent increase in the tax rate. The owner of a $500,000 home could expect to pay an additional $43.25 for the municipal portion of their 2015 tax bill under the proposed budget.
