The Cape May County Health Department reported Tuesday that there are nine new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number to 530, including 41 deaths.
No new deaths were reported Tuesday.
Cape May County Health Officer Kevin Thomas emphasized the importance of social distancing to slow the spread of the virus.
“It’s important that everyone continues to practice good hand hygiene, social distancing (at least 6 feet apart) and staying home as much as possible,” Thomas said in a press release. “These strategies will best help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the community.”

- Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (only if soap and water are not available).
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or your sleeve (not your hands) when coughing or sneezing.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
- Stay home when you are sick.
- Avoid contact with sick people.
- Avoid non-essential travel.
