The Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority.

The Cape May County Municipal Utilities Authority (CMCMUA) is replacing/rehabilitating the force mains that carry wastewater to the treatment plant on the bay at 45th Street. The work will be on 31st Street from Haven Avenue to Bay Avenue; and Bay Avenue from 31st Street to Eighth Street.

Work for the week of Oct. 28 to Nov. 1:

As of Oct. 25, 2019, the Contractor will have installed pipe installed pipe, backfilled the trench, and temporary paved up to the intersection of 29th and Bay Ave.

On Monday (Oct. 28), work will continue to move northward on Bay Avenue between 29th Street and 28th Street. It is expected that one crew will be working in this area for the duration of the week.

Traffic:

Over the weekend (10/26 – 10/27) Bay Ave will be opened to traffic with a lane shift at the terminus of work at 29th and Bay so as to avoid equipment and materials.

Bay Avenue will be closed between 34th Street and 24th Street.

Traffic detours will be established to divert motorists to West Avenue.

The map below depicts the northbound and southbound traffic pattern to be followed. Please obey all established traffic patterns. (Only local traffic will be permitted on Bay Avenue.)
