The Philadelphia 76ers announced today details for the three-stop Summer Shore Tour, presented by Dunkin' Donuts, on Aug. 22, 24 and 26 in Ocean City, Wildwood Crest and Stone Harbor, New Jersey, respectively. The three-day tour, which is open to fans of all ages, continues the team's tradition of visiting its fans at the Jersey Shore for summertime events. In 1959 a dedicated group of offshore anglers established a fishing club with 23 members known as the Snug Harbor Marlin and Tuna Club. The club grew quickly and eventually became known as the Ocean City Marlin and Tuna Club. Today the OCMTC continues as a fishing club based in “Americas Greatest Family Resort”, with a 58 year history of camaraderie and family oriented tournaments. All of the OCMTC sponsored tournaments are for nothing more than bragging rights, with the exception of the clubs “signature” tournament. That tournament, now known as the Ocean City Marlin and Tuna Club Overnight Billfish Tournament, will mark its 40th Anniversary during the upcoming 2017 fishing season...

The Ocean City Exchange Club has donated $7,000 to American Legion Post 524 to help fund monthly Coffee Express Care Package shipments to military personnel serving overseas. The program packs and mails items donated by many local businesses as a way to say “thank you for your service,” and also to bring a taste of the Jersey Shore to those far away. According to program Chairman John Laughlin, this is the ninth year that care packages have been assembled at Post 524 and shipped worldwide. Over 1,500 packages have been delivered to date...
