It’s Always Sunny on Martin Z. Mollusk Day

Ocean City’s hermit-crab mascot seeks his shadow in a local version of Groundhog Day at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, on the beach at Ninth Street. Martin Z. Mollusk has successfully predicted an early summer every year for more than four decades (sometimes, of course, with the creative use of flashlights by his handlers). Special guest for Martin Z. Mollusk Day will be former Philadelphia Eagles long-snapper Jon Dorenbos, who has impressed the world with his magic performances. Dorenbos may have a few tricks up his sleeve for all those who will be cheering for an early summer...

Ocean City High School Made a Splash at the Philadelphia City...

The Ocean City High School Crew Team had a great showing this weekend at the Philadelphia City Championship Regatta on the Schuylkill River. Overcast skies were present, but the rain held off, so the weather was not a significant factor in the outcome of the races. The competition attracted 78 teams from throughout the Philadelphia region. As usual, the Red Raiders were in the middle of the action, and represented well in the medal count, highlighted by a 1st place performance by the Girls Second 8...

Mayor’s Update: May 5

Dear Friends, I know anybody who was trying to use the 34th Street Bridge yesterday was stuck in frustratingly long lines. But I’m happy to report that Cape May County’s two-year redecking project is finally complete. Both lanes of the bridge reopened today. I’d like to thank the county and its contractors for making this important repair to one of our main entrances...

Or perhaps you have browsed or shopped at Interiors by Joann, the retail tenant on the ground floor, and never looked up. Whatever is the case, there is no disputing Ocean City’s Bourse Building is an underappreciated historical and architectural gem....
