O.C Students Propose Out-Of-This-World Science Experiments

Ten teams of students from Ocean City High School and five teams of students from Ocean City Intermediate School submitted proposals for experiments to be carried out on the International Space Station (ISS), according to a press release. They await news, expected to come in December, as to which proposal will make it to the next phase and represent Ocean City in the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP) Mission 13 to the ISS.

Ocean City Fishing Club Tourney Attracts 200 Anglers

A 38-inch striped bass took top honors in the Ocean City Fishing Club’s 50th Invitational Surf Fishing Tournament on Saturday. The catch brought the lucky fisherman, Steve Kingsdorf, a member of Delaware Valley Surf Anglers, trophies for biggest fish caught and most points earned in the event.

OCHS Powder Puff Football Event to Support Waves of Caring Tuesday,...

On Tuesday, November 20, Ocean City High School’s Key Club will host a-long-time-coming Powder Puff Game, a flag football game for females. The Junior/Senior event will begin at 6 o’clock on the OCHS turf. It has been at least thirteen years since there was a Powder Puff game hosted at the high school. Dr. Matt Jamison has helped Key Club throughout the entire planning process to organize this event. Senior Megan Sutter and Junior Casey McLees have been the organizers of this event, along with the Key Club Powder Puff Committee; Ava Kuehner designed the logo for the shirts and advertising. The turf will be split in half, with two Junior teams playing each other, while at the same time, two senior teams playing each other. The winner from each game will play in the championship game. Ocean City Happenings: Christmas in the Downtown Begins Nov. 23

Ocean City’s small-town version of “Black Friday” takes place on Friday, Nov. 23. The Christmas in the Downtown – “Our Miracle on Asbury Avenue” – goes from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event will be a warm and entertaining time featuring carolers and performers throughout downtown Asbury Avenue between Sixth Street and 11th Street. Downtown stores will offer discount shopping for gifts, and many Asbury Avenue restaurants will be open. Mayor’s Message: Nov. 16

In his weekly message to the public, Mayor Jay Gillian is inviting the community to attend the annual Ecumenical Council Thanksgiving Service, which will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church (2998 Bay Avenue). People attending the service are encouraged to bring a donation of canned goods for the local Food Cupboard.

Ocean City Under Flood Watch, Wind Advisory for Thursday

The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch and High Wind Advisory in effect for Ocean City on Thursday. The latest forecast calls for a coastal storm to bring heavy rain and strong easterly winds throughout the day. The Flood Watch will be in effect from 10 a.m. Thursday through the evening.

O.C. Board of Realtors Presents $2,078 Check to Historical Museum

The Ocean City Board of Realtors presented a check to the Ocean City Historical Museum for $2,078. Funds were raised as a result of the BUBBLE MANIA event, a popular and family-friendly attraction held Sept. 15 during the annual Air Festival at the Ocean City Municipal Airport.
