Two More Coronavirus Deaths Reported in Cape May County

Cape May County reported two new deaths and 12 more cases of coronavirus on Tuesday. The two new deaths were a 73-year-old woman and a 93-year-old man. They were residents of the Victoria Manor nursing home in Lower Township. Altogether, eight residents at Victoria Manor have died of COVID-19, according to a county press release.

Cape May County COVID-19 Cases Rise

Cape May County reported Monday there are now 167 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and eight deaths overall in the county, including a 77-year-old woman who was a resident at the Victoria Manor nursing home in Lower Township. With the latest death, Victoria Manor has had a total of six residents die of the coronavirus, confirmed Denis Brown, administrative aide to the Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders.

Special Weather Statement: Tornado Watch

A tornado watch has been issued by the National Weather Service through 7 p.m. Monday. Cape May County is among the areas in New Jersey under the tornado watch, according to the weather alert.

Special Weather Statement: High Winds

The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Watch in effect for Ocean City from Monday morning through Monday evening. Forecasters predict sustained south winds of 25 to 35 mph with gusts of 60 to 65 mph possible. Thunderstorms also are possible on Monday and could result in even stronger gusts.

Three new deaths and 29 more cases of coronavirus were reported Saturday in Cape May County. The latest deaths from COVID-19 include a 73-year-old man from Dennis Township and an 80-year-old man and a 75-year-old woman who were both residents of the Victoria Manor long-term care facility in Lower Township, according to a press release.

Three of the deaths have been nursing home residents, the county said in a press release. The latest death was an 83-year-old woman who resided at the Victoria Manor long-term care facility in Lower Township.
