Sturdy Savings Bank Announces New Director of Lending

Pa. Man Drowns at Unprotected Beach in Ocean City

A Pennsylvania man drown at an Ocean City beach during rough surf conditions, authorities said in a release Thursday. The victim has been identified as Shawn Reilly, 56, of Thornhurst, Pa. Power Boat Beached on North Street in Ocean City

A power boat carrying two people ran aground on North Street Beach in Ocean City early Tuesday afternoon, Ocean City spokesman Doug Bergen said in a release. A second boat beached off Great Egg Harbor Inlet at the Malibu Beach Wildlife Management Area known as Dog Beach, he said. Falcons 4-0 Versus Seagulls in Ocean City

Four years and counting and the falconers -- along with their raptors -- are chasing seagulls away from the beaches, the Boardwalk and the downtown in Ocean City. Seth Rowe, a falconer for the city-contracted East Coast Falcons, looked down the Boardwalk over the busy Labor Day weekend after setting his Harris’s hawk, Karen, out on her mission to rid the boards of pesky, pizza-snatching birds. When asked how his summer season was shaping up as a falconer in Ocean City, he said, “Doing excellent. Not a gull in sight. That’s how the summer has been.”

Mary Ann and Pete Summa decided to give their four children a real treat Saturday and kick off the Labor Day weekend in Ocean City. “We drove down this morning,” Mary Ann Summa noted of their trip from their home in Morristown, N.J.
