Addario, Lucia (Lucy) R. (nee Russo) of Ocean City, NJ, age 94 on July 1st, 2016.
Lucia was a devoted wife, loving Mother, Sister , Aunt , Grandmother, Great-Grandmother & Friend. She was a proud 1940 graduate of Girls High School of Philadelphia . She achieved success working at the College of Textile & Sciences, now Phila. University. She worked with McCoy’s catering in Bristol , Yorktown Inn and dietician at Wyncote Church Home. She was a Girl Scout leader and enjoyed spending time In California with the West Coast Kids and trips to Italy. She was a 40 plus year member of Catholic Daughters of America & a member of the Italian Cultural Institute of South Jersey. She made Ocean City her home in 2000 when her husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
Born in Philadelphia she was one of 9 children born to Michael & Lucia Russo, who predeceased her in addition to her siblings: Michael ( Anna) ,Daniel (Joanne), Joseph, Albert & Sisters Helen Leonardo, Anna Constantino ( Ben), Mary D’Imperio ( Pat).
Also predeceased by the love of her life Anthony D. Addario who died in 2001 and infant grandson William Wilent.
Surviving are her brother Anthony Russo and wife Barbara and sister-in- law Frances Russo.
Also survived by children Anthony & wife Bonnie, Michael, Lucy & husband Bill and Barbara. Grandchildren, Danielle & Steve, Jared & Deb, Andrea & Dave, Richard & Colette, Amber & Joe, Candace ( Dave) , Evan & Anthony ( Sarah) in addition to 15 Great grandchildren & numerous nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian Burial will be offered Tuesday, July 12th at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Ransom Church, 6701 Calvert Street, Phila., Pa 19149 where friends may call from 9:30 am until 10:45am prior to mass for viewing. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, Pa. For our shore Family and friends a Memorial mass will be held at St. Augustine’s RC Church in Ocean City , 13th Street and Wesley Ave., Ocean City, NJ on Wednesday , July 27th at 10:00am.
