The Ocean City AARP Chapter 1062 is sponsoring an event for senior citizens to learn about the Friends of Encore Learning of Stockton (FELS) educational program.

It will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, in Room 111 of the Ocean City Free Public Library at 1735 Simpson Ave. All are invited to attend the event, which will include refreshments.

Meryl Baer, program coordinator of the FELS program at Stockton University, will be the speaker. Baer and her husband are full-time residents of Ventnor. She spends much of her time as a FELS volunteer. She also has a blog, “Six Decades and Counting,” and is published in a number of websites and print anthologies.

FELS offers a variety of entertaining, interactive and educational courses to benefit seniors. FELS members can attend courses that include documentary films, short stories, creative writing, mindfulness and other thought-provoking topics.
