Images and info on Ocean City’s first snowfall of 2016 spread on social media Sunday.

A little more than two inches of snow fell on Ocean City on Sunday — the first flakes of an otherwise warm winter.

But with temperatures just under freezing, the snow did not stick to road surfaces.

Monday’s forecast calls for sun, but the temperature is not expected to top 30 degrees, and a northwest wind could gust as high as 39 mph.

The wind and sub-freezing temperature will continue Tuesday.

The return of more moderate weather will come on Wednesday with sun and a high of 38 degrees.

The ocean water temperature is 42 degrees, and the offshore wind will keep the surf small.
