Mid-Week Fireworks Highlight a Week of Fun in Ocean City

Fourth of July fireworks (on July 5) in Ocean City, NJ, this year.

A fireworks display will light the sky on Wednesday (July 16) at 10:30 p.m. after a night of fun on the Ocean City Boardwalk.

The event is part of two new fireworks nights this year (Father’s Day Weekend and July 16) sponsored by the Boardwalk Merchants Association.

The show will be visible from any of the downtown blocks of the beach and boardwalk.

Here’s the complete lineup of events for the coming week:

 

EVERY SUNDAY THROUGH THE END OF AUGUST

  • Character Nights (6 p.m.)  On the Ocean City Boardwalk.  Boardwalk mascots will sign autographs in front of the Music Pier. Come join the fun and meet all the Ocean City Boardwalk Merchants’ Mascots. Sponsored by Manco and Manco’s Pizza and Gillian’s Wonderland Pier.

 

 SUNDAY, JULY 13

The Ocean City Pops presents Eddie Bruce, 8 p.m. at the Ocean City Music Pier singing Sammy Davis and more. Special guest, Paula Johns, will sing a popular Barbra Streisand duet with Eddie. Tickets are $20/$12 at Music Pier Box Office or ocnj.us/boxoffice.

 

MONDAY, JULY 14

“Cinderella” presented by the Greater Ocean City Theatre Co. A sweet adaptation of the fairy tale classic, delightful for all ages, 10:30 a.m. at the Music Pier. Tickets $10. Call (609) 525-9248 or visit ocnj.us/boxoffice.

David Bromberg at 7:30 p.m. on the Ocean City Music Pier, the Grammy nominated instrumentalist, singer and songwriter performs bluegrass, blues, folk, jazz, country and western and rock ‘n roll equally well. EVERY TUESDAY THROUGH THE END OF AUGUST

  • Funtastic Tuesdays (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.): On downtown Asbury Avenue (6th to 11th streets), entertainment, face painters and balloon sculptors.
  • Mummers Night  (7 p.m. to 9 p.m.): On the Ocean City Boardwalk (6th to 14th streets), sponsored by Shrivers, Surf Mall, Shirt Shack and Ocean Paradise.
  • Beach Walks: Tickets may be purchased on-site, adults for $1 and children for 50 cents; South End at 9 a.m. at the 59th Street and Central Avenue entrance to Corson’s Island State Park; North End at 6:30 p.m. at the Ocean City-Longport Bridge Parking Lot (Gardens Parkway)
  • ‘Frozen’ Sing-Along: Join Queen Elsa and other characters in singing “Let It Go” and other favorites from the Disney movie. See more

 

TUESDAY, JULY 15

Ocean City Pops presents Ed Wise and his New Orleans Big Band, 8 p.m. at the Music Pier. Hear When the Saints Come Marching In and more! Tickets $15/$10 at Music Pier Box Office (609) 525-9248 or ocnj.us/boxoffice.

 

EVERY WEDNESDAY THROUGH THE END OF AUGUST

  • Farmers Market (8 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Sept. 10) On the Ocean City Tabernacle Grounds (Sixth Street and Asbury Avenue) every Wednesday, produce vendors as well as crafters will also gather to display their goods.
  • Beach Walks: Tickets may be purchased on-site, adults for $1 and children for 50 cents; South End at 6:30 p.m. at the 59th Street and Central Avenue entrance to Corson’s Island State Park; North End at 9 a.m. at the Ocean City-Longport Bridge Parking Lot (Gardens Parkway)

 

WEDNESDAY, JULY 16

Fireworks: A fireworks display visible from the downtown blocks of the beach and boardwalk will start at 10:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Boardwalk Merchants Association.

Ocean City Pops presents the BEST of the POPS featuring audience favorites and favorite singers. Tickets $15/$10 at Pier Box Office or ocnj.us/boxoffice.

 

EVERY THURSDAY THROUGH THE END OF AUGUST

  • Market Days (10 a.m. to 1 p.m.): On downtown Asbury Avenue (6th to 11th streets), entertainment, face painters and balloon sculptors.
  • Family Nights (7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.) On the Ocean City Boardwalk (6th to 14th streets), musical and family entertainment at different blocks on the boardwalk sponsored by: Old Salt, Playland Castaway Cove, Johnson’s Popcorn, Haunted Golf and Congo Falls
  • Inn to Inn Tours (2 p.m. to 4 p.m) Commencing at 7th Street and Central Avenue, an old-fashioned trolley winds its way through center city neighborhoods for an intimate visit to four or five bed and breakfasts. Afternoon refreshments are offered at the conclusion of the tours.

 

SATURDAY, JULY 19

  • Ocean City’s Fifth Annual Tribute to the Philippines, July 19-20 featuring free exhibits, free entertainment and health checks. Plus free Health Fair, Sunday, July 20 at the Senior Room of the Free Public Library. Call (609) 525-9300.
