The performers of Ocean City’s own, The Dance Place, dazzled their audience on back to back nights, Wednesday and Thursday, presenting the studios 37th annual recital, “Pure Imagination.” As the capstone to the year, the dancers put on display all of their practice and development to a packed Music Pier filled with friends, family, and loved ones. Undoubtedly, the recital showed off the hard work of both the dancers and their instructors in an action packed two hours with a multitude of fun, beautiful, and entertaining performances.

The Dance Place offers lessons in a large variety of dance styles for ages two and up, and that was apparent as the show moved seamlessly between genres and experience levels. Each performance, too, varied in size; with the stage at some points filled with what could have been half the studio, and other points smaller groups performing specialized routines. Of course, the individual performances offered some of the most rousing moments of the night, as the soloists shown, by themselves, beneath the spotlight. From the colorful costumes to the fun and diverse musical accompaniment, the character of every dancer, and the studio itself, stood out and put an exclamation mark on the end of another great year.

As The Dance Place moves onto its 38th year, anyone interested in finding out more, or becoming a part, can visit ocdanceplace.com. The Dance Place was sure to thank their staff, the parents, and of course their dancers for making this show possible.
