The Signs of Spring in Ocean City

Spring officially arrives on Thursday, but the first real signs of spring for many Ocean City devotees show up in shop windows.

Seasonal business owners are preparing for a new season and posting their opening dates on doors and windows.

That means the return of Brown’s doughnuts, Voltaco’s cheesesteaks and a host of other summer treats is not far away.

Kessel’s Korner opened on Thursday at 28th Street and Asbury Avenue. Check the gallery below for a handful of other opening day announcements, and let us know in the comments section about any other opening dates.

Kessel’s Korner reopened for the season on Thursday, March 13, and the neighborhood welcomed the return of the popular cafe with a full house.
Chatterbox
The Chatterbox at Ninth Street and Wesley Avenue is scheduled to reopen on Thursday, April 10, under new ownership. The Repici family is reportedly turning over the landmark restaurant to Marie and Bob Boyer.

Gillian's Wonderland Pier on the Ocean City Boardwalk at Sixth Street
Gillian’s Wonderland Pier on the Ocean City Boardwalk at Sixth Street is scheduled for its traditional opening on Palm Sunday weekend (April 12 and 13). The Ocean City Doo Dah Parade will be held on that Saturday.
