Signs of Spring: Some Favorite Spots Come to Life in Ocean City

The “OPEN” signs have been sprouting in shop windows for a couple weeks now, and Easter Weekend typically brings seasonal businesses into full bloom in Ocean City — at least on weekends.

Many took advantage of the crowds that came to Ocean City for a warm and sunny Doo Dah Parade last weekend. Another wave of openings will happen on Saturday and Sunday, April 19 and 20.

The weather forecast looks promising again, and Ocean City will host special events from a massive egg hunt on the beach to separate fashion shows for pets and people. But for many, it’s time to get a taste of their favorite summer rituals — from queuing up on the Boardwalk for Brown’s doughnuts in the morning to taking out at Voltaco’s in the evening.

The gallery above includes only a handful of favorites that have opened already and/or will be open this weekend. Check for additional weekday hours.

Rides will be open noon to 5 p.m. at Playland’s Castaway Cove and Gillian’s Wonderland Pier on the Ocean City Boardwalk, and spring half-price ticket sales continue.
