The first annual Charity Surf Camp 4 Children with Special Needs will be held 10 a.m. to noon Saturday (July 12) at Heritage Surf and Sport (14th Street and the Boardwalk) in Ocean City.

Anybody interested in registering for the free event can visit: www.alittlehelpinghand.org. Call 609-391-SURF for more information.

“We believe in a unique experience for children with special needs,” event organizers say. “We do this by creating a welcoming environment at the beach. Our Surf Camp is thoughtfully designed to inspire and accomodate children and familes alike. We are simply a team of individuals, drawn to the ocean, who just happen to want to share our passion.”

The event is free to registered participants, families and spectators. Donations to The New Autism Center at Goryeb Children’s Hospital in Morristown, N.J., will be accepted.
