The boys surround Joe Gallagher as he hits a home run on just the third at-bat of the game of the state Little League championship on Monday.

The Ocean City/Upper Township Little League Team will be honored 8:30 pm tonight (Tuesday, July 29) in a parade with a police and fire escort from the 35th Street and Simpson Avenue baseball fields to the Ocean City Music Pier on the Boardwalk between Eighth and Ninth streets.

Everybody on the island is encouraged to come out and congratulate the team and coaches on playing in the State Little League finals and for being the first Cape May County team to qualify for the state championship since the tournament began in 1956.

The team will be recognized in a ceremony on the Music Pier that all are welcome to attend.

The team fell to Toms River, 7-6 on Monday in a game that decided the state champion.
