Owners and staff of the new Fabiana Edwards Salon at 815 Asbury Avenue cut a ceremonial ribbon on Wednesday to celebrate the opening of the new downtown business.
The ribbon-cutting marks the end of a transformation of a property that used to house the Ocean City Repertory Theater but has been closed since the flooding of Superstorm Sandy in October 2012.
Fabiana Simoes Hackett, who was a partner in the Salon Fabrojae in Vineland until 17 years ago, is back in the business and says she “wants to bring a little bit of the West Coast to Ocean City.”
The completely renovated storefront will offer full services for hair, nails and waxing. Express facials, lip and eye treatments, a braiding bar and a “wash house experience” are some of the salon’s special offerings.
The Fabiana Edwards staff can work off location — for bridal parties, proms and other events.
