The Ocean City High School Drama Guild will perform William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” four times on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
Shows are at 7 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 19), 7 p.m. Friday (Nov. 20), and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 21).Tickets are $15 for adults and $12 for students and seniors. Director Donald Toal Jr. said this will be the first time in recent memory the high school has tackled Shakespeare. He said the shows are appropriate for all ages, though younger children may have trouble following the language.
The performances include double casts for eight roles — with one cast performing Thursday and Saturday evenings, and the other on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon.
The comedy is one of Shakespeare’s most popular works. It involves the intertwined plots of young lovers.
