Nine Ocean City Intermediate School students joined dozens of middle school students from across the state at the 2018-2019 Middle School Leadership Institute conference, “Building Bridges to Success,” held at the Camden County College in Blackwood.

The students, under the leadership of guidance counselor Shannon Pruitt and teacher Cholehna Weaver, learned how to effectively address the current challenges they may face in school and in life.

The students attended breakout sessions, heard national speakers and sat in on workshops designed to help them develop leadership skills.

The program was geared toward empowering the students to make good decisions about their futures.
