Ocean City is seeking volunteers to help clean up litter and other debris on the beaches this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The beach cleanup is held every fall in partnership with the New Jersey environmental group Clean Ocean Action and is part of a statewide effort. Last year, 7,416 volunteers removed 373,686 pieces of debris on beaches statewide.

Local volunteers are encouraged to register at the Ocean City Music Pier before the cleanup on Saturday morning. Participants also can pre-register at www.cleanoceanaction.org. The event will be held rain or shine.
