On February 13, 2016 of Berlin, NJ. Age 87 years. Beloved husband of Elizabeth (nee Bauman) and the late Elizabeth Caroline (nee Schwarz). Devoted father of Patricia Arrington, Retired COL Edward Arrington (Lauren), Carole English (Ed), Thomas Idell (Edith), Joseph Idell (Valerie), Robert Idell (Sharon), Stephen Idell and Paul Idell. Proud grandfather of 18. Great grandfather of 2. Ed was a US Marine Corp Veteran from 1952-1954. He graduated from Rutgers University with his Master’s Degree in 1956 and his Doctorate from Western Colorado University in 1975. He was a teacher for Berlin School System from 1955-1957, Washington Twp. School System from 1957-1959 and was Berlin Twp. School Administrator from 1959-1963. He was Superintendent of the Westville School System 1963-1966, Voorhees School System 1966-1975 and Woodbury School System from 1975-1988. Ed’s greatest accomplishment was fighting the State Department of Education on the “Moment of Silence Rule” which he won in 1983.
