Not Much Progress This Week on Boardwalk Project

Work continues of a project to replace the boardwalk between Sixth Street and Plaza Place (just north of Seventh Street) in Ocean City, NJ on Friday, Jan. 30.

A week after putting the last main section of decking in place, there are no signs of major progress in a boardwalk reconstruction project between Sixth and Seventh streets.

Runners, walkers and cyclists are anxious for the completion of the work and the restoration of the full length of the boardwalk. They have been detoured for two blocks since October.

With most of the decking complete, it appears that filling some final small gaps and re-installing railings and lampposts are the only tasks remaining.

The project was expected to be complete by the end of March but is running well ahead of schedule.
