The 62nd annual Night In Venice Boat Parade and Bayfront Home Celebration in Ocean City, NJ will be held on Saturday, July 16.
The event will be held on the third of five Saturdays in July 2016 and marks a return to the traditional date for the event. Last summer’s Night in Venice was held on July 11, just a week after the Fourth of July weekend.
The date of the event must be set to take advantage of favorable tide schedules. Many parts of the bay and lagoons have been too shallow for boat traffic at low tide.
A parade of decorated boats, many featuring music, will travel from the Ocean City-Longport Bridge at the northern end of the island to Tennessee Avenue, traveling in and out of the lagoons between the two points.
Several hundred decorated bayfront homes will also be showcased. Both home and boat owners will compete for prizes. Entry in the competition is free.
