The following is Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian’s weekly update to citizens, posted on Friday, May 16.
Dear Friends:
Tomorrow, Saturday, May 17th the American Heart Association’s” HeartWalk” takes place. Registration begins at 9:00 am at the Sports and Civic Center at 6th and the Boardwalk. The walk begins at 10:30 am.
Also tomorrow the 5th Annual “Miles for Melanoma” 5K run/walk will take place starting at the 34thStreet beach. Registration begins at 9:00 am. This event raises funds to support research, education and advocacy for melanoma.
On Sunday, May 18th the “Walk to End Lupus Now” takes place. This 2K or 4K walk on the boardwalk raises funds for Lupus research and educational programs while increasing awareness of the disease and those living with it.
