Mayor Jay Gillian: Ocean City Marketing Campaign Launches This Week

The following is Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian’s weekly update to citizens, posted on Friday, March 7.

Dear Friends:

Our Tourist Development Commission launched its 2014 marketing campaign this week.  The theme of this year’s campaign is that a visit to Ocean City, NJ, is “More Than a Vacation … It’s a Tradition.”

The multimedia campaign includes television spots in the greater Philadelphia area, the Lehigh Valley, Lancaster and Harrisburg. Billboards featuring Ocean City have been leased on the Walt Whitman Bridge and I-95, including two in partnership with Cape May County Department of Tourism.

Print ads will appear in the Sunday Philadelphia Inquirer and coming issues of various lifestyle magazines in the region. Advertising by various electronic means will follow including banner ads on various high volume websites.

I would like to thank the members of the commission for all of the time they volunteer to help promote Ocean City.  Their budget is funded by assessments on local mercantile licenses and rental unit registrations.

Have a great weekend and enjoy what hopefully will be some warmer weather!

Warm regards,

Jay A. Gillian
Mayor
