Five separate egg hunt areas will be set up for children of different ages during Ocean City’s Easter Egg Hunt, scheduled for 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4.

The following is Ocean City Mayor Jay Gillian’s weekly update to citizens posted on Friday, April 3.

Dear Friends:

I hope you’ll find time to attend some or all of the many Easter activities and programs in Ocean City this weekend.

The always fun Woof ‘ N Paws Pet Fashion Show will take place on Saturday at 11:00 am at the Sports and Civic Center at 6th Street off the boardwalk.

The Great Easter Egg Hunt is scheduled for 2:30 pm between 11th Street and 14thStreet on the beach.  Children will participate in five age groups while looking for over 100,000 eggs.

I know many of you have long family traditions of beginning Easter Sunday at the annual Easter Sunrise Service beginning at 6:30 am at the Music Pier.  This year’s guest speaker is Dr. Tony Campolo, author and Professor Emeritus of Eastern University.  This service is presented by the Ocean City Ministerium and benefits the Ecumenical Council’s Food Cupboard.

Finally, the Easter Fashion Promenade begins at 1:00 pm in front of the Music Pier.  There will be prizes for best dressed participants and the Easter Bunny will distribute chocolate bunnies to children.

Michele and I wish you all a very Happy Easter.  I hope you enjoy the holiday weekend with your family and friends.

Warm Regards,

Jay A. Gillian
Mayor
