Mark Jamieson has been named the new Operations Chief for the Ocean City Beach Patrol.

Ocean City on Friday promoted Mark Jamieson to operations chief for the Ocean City Beach Patrol. Jamieson is an 18-year veteran of the patrol who has served as a lifeguard, senior guard, training officer and most recently as senior lieutenant.

Jamieson, 34, is a graduate of Ocean City High School and Montclair State University. He holds a master’s degree from Walden University. Jamieson works as a physical education teacher and swimming coach at Egg Harbor Township High School.

Jamieson succeeds Tom Mullineaux, who retired in November after 51 years on the patrol. Jamieson will be paid an annual salary of $30,000.

“I’m confident that Mark will maintain the OCBP’s impeccable record of safety, its service to the community, and its proud tradition of success in competition,” Mayor Jay Gillian said.
