OCEAN CITY, NJ – Musician and resident of Ocean City, Aaron Palermo, has been gaining much attention recently for his performances at events and charities in the area. His band, Aaron Palermo Music, plays a unique style of music combining a grassroots overtone with a laidback ocean vibe, or as they call it “grassroots surf groove.” They recently won a battle of the bands event near Philadelphia, arranged by the organization “Battle 4 Children’s Charities,” where the winning prize was a chance to play a set after the 76’ers Game on Sunday, April 10th. Tickets can be purchased at www.bocb.org and the proceeds will go towards the organization.

In high school, Aaron would spend a lot of his time playing guitar with his friends for fun. Music began taking on a more serious role as an adult, when Aaron joined the worship team at his church, where he began writing songs for them. After some time, he started playing music with friends from his worship team, and the Glenn Taylor Band was formed in 2008 (David Santos- bass, Paul Aspenberg- drums, Glenn Taylor- harp, and Dakota Mason- electric guitar).

Years later, after band members found life taking them in new directions and families began growing, the band lost momentum. Then, in 2014, Aaron invested in some home recording equipment and within a year, produced the album “Faces, Colors & Song.” The album mainly reflects on his life and relationship perspectives. It was released in November 2015, featuring all the members of the Glenn Taylor Band, along with vocalists Gabby Millett and Alex Kyle, and percussionist John Souto.

Aaron Palermo Music has played at several events on the Ocean City Boardwalk, such at the Art of Surfing Festival and the Ocean City Tabernacle’s Boardwalk summer services. Aaron and his band also do a lot of other various performances for the Tabernacle, including the Bethany Hamilton event they hosted last Fall at the Flanders Hotel, where he received excellent reviews. The band loves being able to play for causes and charities, helping raise money for various friends and missionaries. They try to perform as often as possible, sharing their music with the community, and enjoying the result of their talent and hard work.

“My favorite part of performing is just having fun with my friends doing what we love. If we’re having fun together, then the audience seems to feel that.”- Aaron Palermo

On May21st, the band will be playing at the Atlantic Christian School Music Fest in Egg Harbor Township. Mercy Me will be headlining the afternoon affair, including not only music, but vendors and games for the kids. Tickets can be bought at www.acsmusicfest.com.

Their music can be found on iTunes, Amazon, Bandcamp, and Spotify. To get in touch with Aaron or for booking information, send an email to aaronpalermomusic@gmail.com.
