Chuck Betson, was, along with Lt. Ron Kirk, featured in the book Legendary Locals of Ocean City. The following is from the book: “In this photograph are former Ocean City Beach Patrol member Chuck Betson, left, and beach patrol lieutenant Ron Kirk. Betson is interviewing Kirk on the Betson Connection after Kirk won the singles rowing event at the 50th annual Margate World War II Memorial Lifeguard Championship race on August 4, 1995.”
Chuck Betson ( rookie lifeguard 1970) for his many years of support of the local beach patrol, will receive the 20th annual Robert Stowe Award and be inducted into the OCBP Hall of Fame at the Lifeguard Reunion Party, Saturday evening, August 13 at Sandi Pointe Coastal Bistro, 908 Shore Road in Somers Point.
