Labor Day Update: Beaches Closed at 57th and 58th Streets

PROGRESS: As of Monday at 10:30 a.m., the beach replenishment project is at 58th Street. The beach entrances at 57th Street and 58th streets are closed. The beach is open south of the jetty between 59th Street and Corson’s Inlet State Park, and that beach is guarded by the Ocean City Beach Patrol on Monday. The beach is back open at 56th Street.

Beaches between 37th Street and 56th Street are now complete.

WHAT’S NEXT: Work will continue in the area between 58th Street and 59th Street in the final phase of the project. Sand-pumping is expected to be complete within the week. Dune crossover work will follow. And the planting of dune grass is scheduled for November.
