It is a COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION. The definitions of community are: a feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals; and a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common.
An ASSOCIATION is defined as a connection or cooperative link between people or organizations or a group of people organized for a joint purpose.
This defines us and the spirit of Ocean City.
Please join us as we “THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX” to plan activities and fun for 2016 and 2017. We want to bring together ALL GROUPS (City Council, firefighters, police, old/young, families and singles). ALL TYPES of residents, vacationers who just LOVE OC and our seasonal owners. Our goals are simple, to HAVE FUN and truly BE a COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION.
OCCA is hoping to get other community groups to meet with us so the Ocean City community can grow and work together to create a positive change.
ALL other organizations are invited to attend. (Board of Realtors, Gardens Civic Association, Chamber of Commerce, FIT OC, Bike OC, PTA/PTO, any boards, library, Humane Society, etc.)
OCCA is still looking for members that want to make a difference. Specifically, we are seeking a Seasonal Committee Chair (for the seasonal residents), a Junior Chair (to get our teens involved), an Environmental Chair (to organize groups for beach clean-up), as well as many helpers for each committee and event.
Our ideas are plentiful and our goals are to HAVE FUN (and possibly raise some scholarship funds to have MORE FUN).
Our officers are SO EXCITED to have this opportunity to make Ocean City its very best, build health, and again… HAVE FUN!!
