Earlier this week Under Sheriff Bob Nolan and Sheriff Gary Schaffer were in Ocean City to talk with supporters and knock on doors. Pictured above is a group of prominent city officials who support him. Here is what they had to say:
Michael Allegretto: I’m supporting Bob Nolan because I know he has the most experience and best qualifications to be our county’s sheriff. He has a proven track record in all areas needed to be an effective Sheriff. He will work hard and spent our tax dollars efficiently.
Michael DeVlieger: Put simply, this one is a no brainer. Bob’s career has been a progression of roles that have given him intimate knowledge of all four departments under the sheriff’s command. He has worked his way from the ground up. 33 years of service to this department and he has been the Under Sheriff for the last 7 years. Each year the sheriff’s department has been under budget while delivering excellent results. That tells me that the ship is headed in the right direction.
Antwan McClellan: I am delighted to endorse Undersheriff Bob Nolan for Sheriff of Cape May County. Undersheriff Nolan brings a deep commitment to the County of Cape May, a sense of passion, and unbounded energy to everything he does within the County. I have no doubt he will make a terrific, conscientious representative for our County, and work hard for the betterment of our communities. Please join us in supporting Undersheriff Nolan for Sheriff.
Karen Bergman: In addition to Bob Nolan’s extensive experience in the Sheriff’s office. He was previously the elected Deputy Mayor in Lower Township. I mention this because that role required him to understand budgets. The Sheriff’s department under Gary Schaffer has been operating under budget. It is critical to the tax payers that continues.
Keith Hartzell: Gary Schaffer did a great job as our Sheriff, and Bob Nolan was with him every step of way. Our Sheriffs department will continue the modernization of all aspects of their department with the experienced leadership of Bob Nolan. Everyone that I’ve spoken with in the Sheriff’s department has the up most respect for Bob’s professionalism and his dedication. He will make a great Sheriff.
Cape May County Sheriff Gary Schaffer: Bob Nolan has been my Undersheriff for the last 7 years. He has oversight and supervises ever part of the Sheriff’s Office. Once Bob is elected, he will be the first Cape May County Sheriff who worked his way up through the ranks.
Pete Madden: The Sheriff’s department has been operating like a well oiled machine. Earlier this year, the State Association of Chief’s of Police commended them for being considered in the top 8% of Law Enforcement Agencies in NJ. That tells me a lot about the team they have built. I support Bob Nolan for Cape May County Sheriff and suggest that the other 7% get ready to move over.
