Patrons at the Ocean City Free Public Library can now access hoopla digital – a new service that enables library card holders to enjoy on-demand content from their smartphones, tablets, PCs and Apple TV without waiting to borrow. Hoopla digital’s automatic return feature eliminates late fees.
The service, which started last week in Ocean City, has partnerships with major Hollywood studios, publishers and record companies –Universal Pictures, MGM, National Geographic and BBC Worldwide – boasting popular titles such asThe King’s Speech, Scarface, I Don’t Know How She Does It, Neil Young’s “Storytone,” Led Zeppelin’s “Led Zeppelin IV Remastered” and Bette Midler’s “It’s The Girls.”
The service is now live in 17 library systems in the state of New Jersey, including Montclair Public Library, Cumberland County Library, Mahwah Public Library, Mount Laurel Library, Rahway Public Library and many others.
The new service is part of an effort of libraries nationwide to expand their content offerings to meet the needs of tech-savvy new generations.
