Mayor Jay Gillian announced that the city will "pause" further work on the Crook Horn Creek Nature Trail project at the request of Fourth Ward Councilman Dave Winslow. The project is designed to elevate the trail to create flood protection for homes in the south end of town. However, homeowners have expressed concerns to Winslow and other city officials about parking, noise and safety. So, the dirt trail will not be elevated, but holes will be filled in, the mayor said in a statement Friday. His entire statement follows.
