R.L. Coastal Concepts celebrated its opening with a ceremonial ribbon-cutting on Wednesday afternoon.

The renovated Asbury Avenue location features a studio where co-owner Rachel Bachman can work on custom painting.

“I like reclaimed items,” Bachman said.

The shop, for instance, salvaged a World War II shipping crate and repurposed it as a coffee table.

Bachman’s custom work (by appointment) includes: Beach scenes, nautical themes, refinishing, distressing and antiquing, faux finishing.

A small showroom features Bachman’s works as well as other coastally inspired home decor and furnishings.

Bachman said she hopes to run painting classes in the fall at the studio.
