Cape May County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti, shown here speaking during a 9-11 commemoration ceremony in Sea Isle City, will talk about the election during a forum at the Ocean City Free Public Library.

Cape May County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti will be the featured speaker during a public forum focusing on the Nov. 6 election.

Sponsored by the Ocean City AARP Chapter 1062, the forum will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, in Room 111 at the Ocean City Free Public Library. The public is invited to attend.

Fulginiti is expected to talk about recent changes in election laws, how to keep elections safe in Cape May County and political action committees.

Fulginiti is an election official responsible for the preparation of sample ballots, processing mail-in ballots, filing candidates nominating petitions and the certification of countywide election results.

“In my 33 years of service at the County Clerk’s Office I have never seen a General Election like the one approaching us on November 6,” she said in a press release. “A supercharged mid-term federal election for Congress, a rush by our governor in August mandating significant changes to the mail-in ballot law, the frenzy of events taking place in Washington D.C., and the incredible state of technology utilizing personal data to reach people has heightened voter awareness in Cape May County.”
